Specimen 02 — Four-season family
Shell Castle Inflatable Roof Top Tent
The Shell Castle is the four-season family model in the Play.do! inflatable line. It keeps the Skiff's 220 × 145 cm sleeping footprint and 2–3 person capacity, and builds the structure up for year-round use: 12 cm black PVC air beams instead of pull-wire beams, a 15 cm PVC drop-stitch air mattress, and an internal load capacity of 200 kg. Entries on both sides mean nobody climbs over a sleeping partner to get out at night, and mesh doors and windows plus two vents keep air moving in warm weather.

Built for four seasons
Three construction choices carry the four-season brief. First, the beams: 12 cm diameter in black PVC — the figure the tent's shape and snow-shedding profile stand on. Second, the seams: seam tape is a PU hot-melt adhesive strip, specified on the product page rather than left generic. Third, the mattress: the 15 cm PVC drop-stitch air mattress insulates the sleeping surface from the cold roof beneath it while doubling as the tent floor structure. The 300D coated Oxford body is the same fabric family as the Skiff, and the semi-translucent fabric option gives soft interior light during the day.
The brand also lists the Castle for use beyond the roof — on the ground and indoors as well as on the vehicle — which suits rental fleets and glamping operators who move tents between pitches. The 200 kg internal load rating is the figure to check against your sleepers; our roof load capacity guide explains how internal load, tent weight and the vehicle's dynamic roof rating fit together.
What is in the box
The listed package is: tent ×1, four 2.5 × 600 cm straps, repair kit, shoe bag, manual, storage bag and hand pump. Whether the ladder and the electric pump are included depends on the variant selected — confirm the exact configuration for your order before payment, and ask for the full spec sheet if you are comparing the Castle against the Skiff or the Starry Sky 2.
Ordering notes
Minimum order quantities are listed per model on the company's B2B listings and vary across the inflatable line; ask for the MOQ and lead time that apply to the Shell Castle when you send your enquiry, and confirm them in writing before you pay. For the cooperation routes — distribution, retail supply and buyer label — see business cooperation.
- How is the Castle different from the Skiff?
- Same 220 × 145 cm bed, but the Castle uses 12 cm PVC air beams, a 15 cm mattress (Skiff: 25 cm), dual-side entry and carries the four-season positioning and 200 kg internal load rating.
- Is the ladder included?
- It depends on the selected variant. Confirm the package contents for your configuration when you enquire.
- Can it stay on the roof year-round?
- It folds to 75 × 50 × 30 cm, so it can be stored off the vehicle between trips; the four-season rating refers to camping use across seasons.
